Why is a straight smile so important?
You may be told that braces for you or a loved one is something to consider. Braces are used to correct the following conditions:
- Misaligned teeth
- Crowded teeth
These conditions don’t just lead to a poorer smile but they can contribute to other dental problems including decay, gum disease, and more. If braces are affecting your smile and possibly your overall dental health, you should strongly consider them.
Are braces painful?
While traditional braces may be a bit uncomfortable when first applied, that discomfort subsides in only a matter of days. Some patients take an over-the-counter pain reliever but many report that a pain reliever wasn’t necessary. Plus we use a gentle touch and the latest technology to keep our patients comfortable throughout the process, from the time full braces are applied to the day they’re removed.
How long do most people wear traditional braces?
Most often, braces are worn for 12 to 36 months depending on the severity of the individual case and the issue that needs to be corrected.
How young can a patient be to wear braces?
While children can start the process of being evaluated for braces and receive some orthodontic treatment before all their adult teeth are in place, children won’t typically receive full braces until all their adult teeth are grown in, normally by about age 13 or so.
Can I afford braces for myself or my family?
If you have any concerns about affording braces, we offer a number of payment options. We accept most major insurance providers along with several financing options. And always make sure to ask us about current specials which help our patients get braces at a savings.
Still Not Sure About Traditional Braces? Here are the top five reasons you should consider braces to straighten your teeth and improve your smile:
1 – Fewer Dental Health Issues – Those with straight teeth are less likely to have problems with discoloration, fractures, uneven wear, and cavities. Your gums will be healthier too, which means with proper dental hygiene and regular checkups, you’re less likely to get gum disease.
2 – Better Overall Health – Having good oral hygiene and oral health can improve your overall health and thus reduce the risk of disease.
3 – Look – White, straight teeth are much more attractive then yellow, crooked teeth. Many of our adult patients have said that their new smile makes them feel and look years younger.
4 – Build Confidence – When you feel better about yourself due to your improved smile, you’ll feel more confident in yourself overall. Our patients agree that a more attractive appearance and smile relates to a happier, self-assured you!
5 – Improve Your Career Prospects – When you feel better about yourself, that confidence may flow into the workplace. And if you’re interviewing for a new position, having an improved smile is a leg up for making a great first impression.
