Dr. Leslie Crowell-Powell, DDS
Dr. Leslie Crowell-Powell’s interest in dentistry began while working as a dental assistant for the late, great Dr. Karl F. Lutomski in a periodontal office. This interest flourished into her becoming a dental hygienist. After working in that position for years, she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery with the desire to further help in the restoration of patients’ dentition. Dr. Crowell-Powell enjoys all facets of dentistry with a very special interest in cosmetic dentistry in the transformation of one’s smile, using the latest restorative materials. She has practiced dentistry in a variety of settings from mobile dentistry to nursing home dentistry to private practices throughout the Metro Detroit area.
Dr. Crowell-Powell received her Liberal Arts Degree at Oakland Community College before beginning her dental journey at the University of Michigan, obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 1990, followed by her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2004. To stay abreast of all the latest techniques and treatment options to provide the best care for her patients, Dr. Crowell-Powell attends many continuing education courses.
Outside of the office, Dr. Crowell-Powell likes to enjoy family time with her two children, Haiden and Hailey, playing basketball, football, and badminton, with their pet dog Rocky lounging in the sun. Dr. Crowell-Powell also enjoys reading and home projects—she just refinished a large deck with her son! In addition to this, Dr. Crowell-Powell is also involved with the children’s Awana program at her local church.
